36 Women in business joined the team at the Aga Twyford showroom for lunch yesterday, and Betty, with the aid of her trusty and talented chef Jacqui, fed them with Chicken Volute, which is  a recipe from the books of a truly 1960’s domestic goddess.  The chicken dish was served with rice and a green salad topped with a homemade dressing, and the business women lined up for seconds!  A fruit punch was created with orange juice, soda water and fruit cocktail and lovely little Genoese sponges completed the delicious repast.

Betty and Jacqui cooked free range chickens in the roasting oven of the Aga, striped them to the carcass,  and made the volute sauce with butter, flour, mustard and chicken stock laced with cream.  Carrot batons and chopped French beans were added to the mix. Freshly chopped parsley completed the dish.

After lunch the ladies enjoyed a shopping experience from the Aga cookshop and the Betty Twyford emporium.

Betty says – ‘An exceedingly pleasant day was enjoyed by all!’

  1. I recieved this coobookk as a gift about 9 or so years ago, when it came out. I have been using it ever since, I find it hard to cook chicken without it. It’s filled with quick, easy and delicious recipes. Some are more complex than others, some are just 2-3 ingredients! You can’t get more easy than that. I have tried and true recipes I know by heart now, I would recommend this coobookk to beginners everywhere.
