36 Women in business joined the team at the Aga Twyford showroom for lunch yesterday, and Betty, with the aid of her trusty and talented chef Jacqui, fed them with Chicken Volute, which is a recipe from the books of a truly 1960’s domestic goddess. The chicken dish was served with rice and a green salad topped with a homemade dressing, and the business women lined up for seconds! A fruit punch was created with orange juice, soda water and fruit cocktail and lovely little Genoese sponges completed the delicious repast.
Betty and Jacqui cooked free range chickens in the roasting oven of the Aga, striped them to the carcass, and made the volute sauce with butter, flour, mustard and chicken stock laced with cream. Carrot batons and chopped French beans were added to the mix. Freshly chopped parsley completed the dish.
After lunch the ladies enjoyed a shopping experience from the Aga cookshop and the Betty Twyford emporium.
